Archival Services For All Your Archival Needs
During the last 3 weeks, I have received calls from people looking for archival services and they all shared the same concern. They all said, in one way or another, that archival services are becoming harder to find. They also seemed very happy to have found us. Once we discussed the wide range of options, it seemed that they had something special to celebrate. At least they knew they had found a place where they felt they could trust to get their archival services and many other microfilm scanning, microfilming, and document scanning as well. All in one location.
Archival services refers to the transferring of digital images to microfilm. In years past, this was a very common and usual process for many organizations. They used archival services for storing large amounts of information on microfilm. Since many of these firms have found a new home for their information on digital devices. Archival services is now used in a more limited ways. As a consequence, many archival services are no longer offered by many companies that use to. Eventually, these services are going to be a thing of the past for many more organizations, but for those who still need these services, we are glad to be able to help. If you need archival services, scanning services, or microfilming services, I recommend that you try to find a qualified service provider. Archival services are not as easy to find anymore but the efforts in finding the right place will pay off. You can visit us to more details about all the alternatives available for you today.Copyright G.I. Partners, LLC

35mm and 16mm Microfilm Scanning Services
Generation Imaging’s microfilm scanning services utilize the NextScan equipment – which is known as the very best roll film conversion devices on the planet. NextScan, and American company, was founded by former Sunrise Imaging employees and created innovative ribbon scanning software. This procedure ensures that a 16mm or 35mm roll of film is scanned in its complete form (including all of the spaces between frames).
Microfilm scanning services includes quality assurance. The quality control audit is carried out by a human operator. Compare this method to non-ribbon scanning, and you can see that non-ribbon scanning results in nightmare situations of skipped frames and cut-offs.
35mm microfilm scanning services: 35mm rolls usually contain blueprints, newspapers, architectural drawings, and engineering diagrams, although any time of document can be found on a 35mm roll. For example, 35mm reels are used for archiving historic documents and some deed records.
16mm microfilm scanning services. 16mm rolls can be in lengths of 100 feet or less or varieties that are double that length. Generally speaking, 16mm is width used for standard office-sized 8.5 x 11 inches (aka A4 documents). 16mm roll film can also contain checks, pay stubs, time cards, and driver’s licenses. Obviously, these frames are small, especially with duplex and duo 16mm rolls. Spools of 16mm roll film can be enclosed in cartridges or in cardboard or metal boxes.
Please contact Generation Imaging for a microfilm scanning services price quote or for more information about the company. Daniel Gandul and Damian Hospital stand ready to assist you with your roll film project, no matter what the size is.

Cost of Scanning Microfilm Has Decreased in Recent Years
The cost of scanning microfilm has decreased in recent years, and it’s not solely based on the new economy we are living in. Back in the 1990s the price to convert roll film was much more expensive than it is today. Wrap your head around that. In most markets- due to inflation- the cost of services increases, but not in this case.
First, roll film scanners are now much faster than their previous versions. So right off the bat you can see that that if the machine is faster, the amount of time a project lasts decreases, and thus labor costs decrease, as does the project queue (more projects can be scheduled and completed).
Second, government bids that require scanning microfilm are awarded to the lowest bidder. In the micrographics industry this has caused many companies to reassess their pricing structure regarding scanning microfilm.
Third, the growth of roll film scanning companies has increased, or large corporations who had bought scanners for one internal large project decided to keep them and expand their business. There may be thousands of companies that offer microfilm scanning services in 2011. Since roll film is a finite resource (granted some counties or entities still produce microfilm for archive purposes), and since there are so many microfilm scanning companies, competition has forced a price drop for scanning microfilm.

So those three factors were in place BEFORE the mortgage bubble burst, and BEFORE the recession, and BEFORE the bailouts, and BEFORE the stock market took a hit, and BEFORE the unemployment rate has skyrocketed.
It has become harder and harder for organizations to allocate a budget for scanning microfilm. Yet Generation Imaging is aware of the market prices and will work with you to get you the best scanning microfilm price.Copyright G.I. Partners, LLC

Microfilm Scanning News
The Economy and Microfilm Scanning
There are some indications that the end to some economy struggles may be just around the corner, and not too late for some microfilm scanning services.
Government agencies in general have been affected by the so-called Great Recession and had to cancel microfilm scanning projects. The slow home development affected the resources government agencies counted on for microfilm scanning projects. Fees that some government offices once received from building permits and related services, were used to fund microfilm scanning projects. The near dead housing industry meant that fees from building and zoning permits also disappeared and this was money lost from the budgets. As a result, government organizations have been reluctant to start or continue microfilm scanning projects unless the microfilm scanning project had an absolute priority.
A recent study reported by MSN on the housing economy showed a very interesting aspect that could possibly turn things around in the very near future, including microfilm scanning project for backfile conversion. The information revealed that 1.6 million new homes are needed each year to keep up with population growth. The information also showed that within 2 years, the inventory of new homes will be gone, and that it takes about a year to build a new home.
The new home construction has come to almost a complete stop, while the population continues to grow. To avoid a problem of homes not keeping up with the growth in the near future, development needs to start soon. A lack of housing may be a bigger problem that what exists today, according to the review. Either way, whether we foresee this issue now or later, it seems apparent that the housing industry will necessity to resume some new building within a year or so. Once a demand for housing sets in, the market should be motivated to increase construction.
An increase in building means an instant increase of building permits for construction and zoning changes. Government organizations will be able to collect fees from the building and zoning permits and commence other projects. And once confidence levels begin to increase, microfilm scanning and other document conversion projects should also begin to see life.
To convert files from microfilm, a microfilm scanning process is needed. Zoning departments that plan to expand their service by changing to a digital system often have many of the old documents stored on microfilm or microfiche cards. Microfilm scanning is the process to convert backfile microfilm to digital. Digital systems are more efficient that traditional system. In addition, there is an ongoing cost savings to the agency because the electronic system requires less labor to operate. Converting microfilm to digital format is achieved by means of microfilm scanning.

Microfilm Scanning Services
Microfilm Scanning News and Microfilm Industry Trends
Microfilm Scanning services will be seeing positive changes in the near future, as a consequence of improvements in the housing industries.
Some government agencies have been affected by the economy’s problems and had to cancel microfilm scanning projects. In many cases, there was a direct correlation between the housing industry and the cash used by these government agencies to pay for these projects. In some cases, fees applied to building permits generated cash that were used for funding microfilm conversion projects. The near dead housing industry meant that fees from building and zoning permits also disappear and this was money lost from the budgets. A result of the lost in business from these government organizations has been cancellation of many microfilm conversion projects.
According to some studies, a continued population growth and a near stand still home building may force positive changes. The information revealed that 1.6 million new homes are needed each year to keep up with population growth. The information also showed that within two years, the inventory of new homes will be gone, and it takes about a year to build a new home. The article was released on MSN with the topic: real estate economy.
Very few homes have been build recently, while the population has continued to rise. New house construction needs to start to avoid a deficiency of housing in the near future. A deficiency of housing may be a bigger problem that what exist today, according to the review. Either way, whether we foresee this issue now or later, it seems apparent that the housing industry will necessity to resume some new development within a year or so. Once a demand for housing sets in, the market should be motivated to increase construction.
An increase in development means an instant increase of building permits for development and zoning changes. Fees collected from permits will allow government offices some breathing room. Microfilm scanning projects will also have an increase chance of materializing.
Microfilm scanning is needed to convert many of the files that now reside on microfilm. Many organizations have significant amounts of documents on microfiche and microfilm and need microfilm scanning to become digital. Microfilm scanning will convert information from film to a digital file format. A digital system is able to provide better customer service and save money. In addition, there is an ongoing cost savings to the agency because the electronic system requires less labor to operate. Microfilm scanning is an important part of the conversion process.
